On the evening of December 6, 2020, a 19-year-old Black / African American male named JShaun Jerril Wallace of Waldorf, Maryland, was tragically killed. Officers responded to a call around 8:30 p.m. about a shooting in the 2500 block of Business Park Court. Upon arrival, they discovered Wallace behind a building, suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite life-saving measures performed by the officers, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The investigation into Wallace's death revealed that the incident was the result of a planned shoe sale that turned into a fatal robbery. Detectives learned that Wallace had arranged to sell shoes to 18-year-old Keishon Javontae Thompson of Waldorf. The two were known to each other, and a preliminary investigation indicated that Thompson shot Wallace during the transaction.

Within days of the shooting, detectives identified Thompson as the suspect. On December 10, 2020, with the assistance of the US Marshals Task Force and the Harford County Sheriff's Office, Thompson was located in Bel Air, MD, and arrested. He was subsequently charged with first-degree murder and other related offenses and held at the Charles County Detention Center without bond.

In March 2023, after a five-day trial and three hours of deliberation, a Charles County jury convicted Keishon Javontae Thompson of first-degree murder and related weapons charges. On July 20, 2023, Thompson, then 21, was sentenced to life in prison plus 15 years and two days for the murder of JShaun Wallace.
