Tre Thomas Wilburn, a 28-year-old man, was fatally shot on the night of March 11, 2021, in the parking lot of the Gold Mine Saloon in Waldorf, Maryland. The evening began with a verbal disagreement inside the establishment that tragically escalated. Wilburn was involved in an argument with another male, which then turned into a physical fight.
During the altercation, a second individual became involved, producing a handgun and shooting Wilburn multiple times.
The suspects then fled the scene in a vehicle, leaving chaos and a life cut short in their wake. Emergency services were called to the scene, but despite their efforts, Tre Thomas Wilburn was pronounced dead from his injuries.
The Charles County Sheriff's Office launched an investigation into the homicide. Detectives were able to identify a suspect in the shooting, Maurice Alexander Pr'out, a 26-year-old from Goldsboro, North Carolina. With the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service, Pr'out was located and apprehended in Ontario, California, on March 17, 2021. He was awaiting extradition to Charles County to face charges of first-degree murder, second-degree murder, and other related offenses. The investigation continued as authorities sought to piece together the events of that fatal night and bring all responsible parties to justice.
