On an autumn afternoon in Baltimore, a sequence of events unfolded that would tragically end the life of 33-year-old Whitney Purnell. On October 4, 2021, a heated argument escalated into a physical altercation inside a store on North Eutaw Street. The woman with whom she was arguing, Jasmine Jones, then 24 years old, was seen on video surveillance punching Purnell in the head. The force of the blow caused Purnell to fall and strike her head on an ATM.
