On a Sunday afternoon in Suitland, Maryland, tragedy struck, leaving a family and community mourning the loss of a life taken too soon. On October 10, 2021, 43-year-old Carl D. Tucker II, a Black/African American male from Washington, D.C., was found fatally shot in a parking lot. The Prince George's County Police Department responded to a report of a shooting at approximately 3:45 p.m. in the 3500 block of Parkway Terrace Drive.
Upon their arrival, they discovered Tucker suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Homicide Unit of the Prince George's County Police Department immediately launched an investigation into the weekend homicide. Detectives are diligently working to piece together the events that led to the shooting and to identify the individual or individuals responsible for this violent act. Despite their ongoing efforts, a motive for the shooting has not yet been determined.
As the investigation continues, no arrests have been made in connection with the death of Carl Tucker. Law enforcement officials have not publicly identified any suspects.
