Markelle Morrow, known by his stage name Goonew, was a 24-year-old rapper from District Heights, Maryland. On March 18, 2022, he was tragically shot and killed in a parking lot on the 2400 block of Walters Lane in District Heights. According to reports, officers from the Prince George's County Police Department (PGPD) responded to the scene around 5:45 p.m. and found Goonew suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead^1^.
