On May 11, 2016, Samuel Paige, a 27-year-old resident of Suitland, Maryland, was tragically killed in District Heights. The incident occurred early in the morning and was part of a targeted robbery attempt that ended in gunfire. According to reports, officers responded to the sound of gunshots around 4:20 a.m. and found a vehicle crashed into a tree near Aztec Drive and Gateway Boulevard. Inside the vehicle, they discovered Samuel Paige, who had been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene.
