On April 12, 2022, Rema Gibson, a 45-year-old resident of Fort Washington, Maryland, was found fatally shot in the hallway of an apartment building on Palmer Road. The incident occurred around 9:20 p.m., and when officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Gibson suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite the efforts of first responders, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
