Michael Abey, a 67-year-old homeless man, was tragically shot and killed in Essex, Maryland, on November 8, 2022. The incident occurred near the intersection of North Taylor Avenue and Eastern Boulevard. Baltimore County Police responded to a report of a cardiac arrest and found Abey bloodied and unresponsive. He was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. An autopsy revealed that Abey had been shot multiple times, and his death was ruled a homicide.
