Police Officer Robert G. Johnston of the Rock Hill Police Department in South Carolina tragically died on January 19, 1906, following an accidental shooting incident that occurred the previous day. Officer Johnston was engaged in shoveling coal in the city council chamber when his .41 Colt revolver fell from its holster, hit the floor, and discharged.
