Sergeant Thomas Clyde Harrison Jr., aged 38, tragically lost his life on January 15, 1993, in Orangeburg, South Carolina. He was a dedicated officer with the Orangeburg Department of Public Safety. On the day of his death, Sergeant Harrison was at the Prince of Orange Mall, specifically at the Belk department store, where he was attempting to question three individuals suspected of passing forged checks.
