David Wayne Moore, aged 30, tragically lost his life on September 15, 1997, in Aiken, South Carolina. Moore was one of the victims in a mass shooting at the R.E. Phelon Company, a lawn mower parts manufacturing factory where he was employed. The perpetrator, Hastings Arthur Wise, was a former employee of the factory who had been terminated from his position in July 1997 following a confrontation with a supervisor.
