In the summer of 2014, in the town of Gaffney, South Carolina, a domestic tragedy unfolded that would ultimately be brought to justice. On June 21st, 59-year-old Rita M. Pennington was fatally shot in her home on Ford Road. Her husband, William Dean Pennington, initially claimed the shooting was a tragic accident.
