On the night of August 18, 2014, in Goose Creek, South Carolina, Bryant Hud Kinsey, a 33-year-old Black man, was inside an apartment at the S&K Apartments complex on Carolina Avenue when the quiet of a late-summer Monday was broken by gunfire.
