In the fall of 2014, a tragic incident cut short the life of 13-year-old Ethan Hunter Payne in Lexington, South Carolina. On the afternoon of October 1st, after a half-day at school, Ethan was at his home with friends when a gun was fired. The single gunshot wound proved to be fatal for the eighth-grader from Lexington Middle School. He was rushed to a local hospital, but tragically, he was pronounced dead.
