Phillips, who was born on August 12, 1971, in East Point, Georgia, was known for his love of the outdoors, often enjoying activities such as camping, fishing, and paddle boarding on Lake Murray with his service dog, Max. His untimely death left a significant void in the lives of his family and friends, who remembered him as a beloved father, brother, and friend.
