In the early morning hours of July 9, 2022, the life of 29-year-old Tyler Bradley Robinson was tragically cut short in what investigators believe was a planned and violent ambush. Robinson, a Black/African American male known as 'T-Rob' and 'T-Rob Smooth,' was a music promoter and co-founder of Long Money Camp in the greater Columbia, South Carolina area.
Having spent part of his evening at a club in downtown Columbia, it is believed he was followed to his home at the Lauren Ridge Apartments in Lexington.
At approximately 2:00 a.m., shortly after Robinson arrived at the apartment complex, he was attacked by several unidentified individuals in an outside stairway of his building. He was shot multiple times in the upper body. Responding to reports of the shooting, Lexington Police Department officers found Robinson and administered aid until emergency medical services arrived. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The investigation into Tyler Bradley Robinson’s death has revealed that after being shot, he was robbed of several pieces of custom jewelry and a watch. The assailants then proceeded to burglarize his apartment before fleeing the scene in a vehicle. Law enforcement has publicly described the stolen items, which include a gold necklace with a jeweled 'Smooth' and 'LMC' pendant, two jeweled gold rings—one with a '$' and the other with 'LMC'—and a jeweled gold watch, in the hopes of generating leads.
As of July 2024, two years after the incident, no arrests have been made in connection with the murder of Tyler Bradley Robinson, and no suspects have been publicly identified. The Lexington Police Department continues to treat the case as an active and ongoing homicide investigation. Authorities have repeatedly appealed to the public for any information regarding the shooting, the individuals involved, or the location of the stolen jewelry. They maintain that it was an isolated and planned event and are committed to bringing justice to Robinson's family and friends.
