In the late afternoon of December 1, 2014, the life of 25-year-old Lance Lynell Myers of Rembert, South Carolina, was tragically cut short. Around 4:45 p.m., the sound of gunshots echoed near Miller Road in Sumter. When police arrived at the scene, they discovered Myers on the ground next to a Sumter School District maintenance building on Shop Road. He had sustained a gunshot wound to his upper body and, despite the efforts of emergency responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
