In the summer of 2015, the life of 33-year-old Shimone Gillins, a male from Sumter, South Carolina, was tragically cut short. On a Friday evening in July, law enforcement and emergency medical services were called to a vacant house in the 600 block of South Harvin Street. Behind the abandoned dwelling, they discovered Gillins's body. An autopsy would later reveal that he had died from a gunshot wound to his upper body.
