In Sumter, South Carolina, on January 23, 2026, the life of 38-year-old Jeremy Jerrod Barr of Timmonsville was tragically cut short. A resident of a home in the 200 block of Fagan Street made a grim discovery upon returning in the late afternoon, finding Barr, an acquaintance, deceased inside the house.

The Sumter Police Department was called to the scene, and it was determined that Barr had been fatally shot earlier that day. The Sumter County Coroner's Office confirmed his identity and ...
