In the quiet community of Rembert, South Carolina, a tragedy unfolded that shattered the peace of a family. Brenda Ransom Slater, a 60-year-old woman, was killed in her own home. On March 15, 2016, a distressing call was made to the Lee County Sheriff's Office. The caller was James Slater Jr., Brenda's husband, and his message was chilling: he had shot his wife.
