In the late afternoon of a Saturday in Charleston, South Carolina, a dispute between two acquaintances escalated into a fatal encounter. On May 14, 2016, 24-year-old Odero Rashad Deas was shot and killed at an apartment complex in the city. Authorities reported that the shooting occurred during an argument, and it was believed that Deas knew the person who shot him. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
