In the early morning hours of May 24, 2016, a woman walking near Fisher Avenue and Williams Street in Spartanburg, South Carolina, made a grim discovery that would unsettle the community. Inside a car, she found the bodies of two men, both of whom had been shot to death. One of the victims was identified as Allen Keith Sullivan, a 30-year-old Black male from Spartanburg. The other man was Jeffery Jamar Woodruff.
An autopsy would later reveal the brutal nature of their deaths.
Sullivan had sustained multiple traumatic injuries which included closed head trauma and internal hemorrhage, in addition to the fatal gunshot wounds. Investigators believe that he and Woodruff were likely killed late on the night of May 23rd or in the early hours of May 24th, before their bodies were found.
The Spartanburg Police Department, with assistance from the Greenville County Sheriff's Office, launched a double homicide investigation. Crime scene investigators utilized advanced technology to map the scene and collect evidence, hoping to piece together the events that led to the violent deaths of the two men.
Despite the efforts of law enforcement, the case has grown cold. To date, no arrests have been made in connection with the murders of Allen Keith Sullivan and Jeffery Jamar Woodruff. Authorities have not publicly identified any suspects in the ongoing investigation. The community and the families of the victims are left with unanswered questions and the hope that one day, justice will be served.
