Denise Couplin, aged 52, and her 9-year-old granddaughter, Deziyah Davis, were tragically murdered on July 17, 2016, in Darlington, South Carolina. The incident occurred at their home on Bobo Newsome Highway, also known as Highway 151. The bodies were discovered by Couplin's nephew around 11:50 a.m. that day. The house showed signs of forced entry and had been ransacked, with drawers open and furniture cushions displaced.
