In the autumn of 2016, a life was tragically cut short on the streets of Louisville, Kentucky. David Bray, a 65-year-old man, found himself in a fatal altercation on November 21st near the intersection of Algonquin Parkway and Winkler Avenue. The assault proved to be severe, and Bray succumbed to his injuries approximately two weeks later, leaving behind a family to mourn his violent passing.
His sister, Nancy Rego, rememberd her brother as a man who battled with drug addiction for nearly a decade and was experiencing homelessness at the time of his death.
The investigation into Bray's death continued for several months until a break in the case led to an arrest in February of 2017. The Louisville Metro Police Department identified 37-year-old Reginald Carr as the primary suspect in the assault that led to Bray's death. Carr was subsequently taken into custody and formally charged with murder, marking a significant development in the quest for justice for David Bray and his family.
Following his arrest, the legal proceedings against Reginald Carr began. The case brought to light the stark contrast between the two men involved in the deadly encounter. While Bray was described by his sister as weighing only about 115 pounds, his alleged attacker was a much larger man.
