In the summer of 2020, the life of a young Louisville teenager was tragically cut short. Jalen William Anthony, a 16-year-old Black male, was fatally shot on the evening of July 13th in the Algonquin neighborhood. The incident unfolded in the 1200 block of West Hill Street, where officers from the Louisville Metro Police Department responded to reports of a shooting at approximately 9:40 p.m. Upon their arrival, they discovered Jalen suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
