In the quiet, early morning hours of April 30, 2017, the tranquility of a neighborhood in Longs, South Carolina, was shattered by the sound of gunfire. Inside his Freemont Road home, 57-year-old Rainey Valentine, a male resident, was resting on his living room couch.
