In the late autumn of 2024, the community of Longs, South Carolina, was shaken by a violent act that claimed the life of 21-year-old Mikell Demarquez Lance. On the afternoon of Saturday, October 26, 2024, shots rang out on Castlers Heights Road, leaving the young man with multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency services responded to the scene, and Lance was rushed to a local hospital for treatment. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he succumbed to his injuries.
