On May 8, 2017, Crystal Wiley, aged 37, was tragically shot and killed in Summerville, South Carolina. The incident occurred earlier in the day, prompting a swift response from law enforcement. The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office issued a "Be On the Lookout" (BOLO) for her husband, Troy Lamont Wiley, who was considered armed and dangerous at the time. The search for Troy Wiley led to a significant police operation, including lockdowns at schools in the College Park area of Goose Creek.
