In the spring of 2017, the life of 26-year-old Austin Chandler was cut tragically short in Lexington, South Carolina. A talented artist and carpenter, he was known for his loving nature and dedication to his two children. On the evening of May 15, 2017, an altercation in a garage on Glasgo Lane escalated, and Chandler was fatally shot multiple times.
The investigation into Chandler's death was handled by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division due to a potential conflict of interest,
as Chandler was related to an employee of the Lexington County Sheriff's Department. Investigators quickly identified a primary suspect, 32-year-old Brandon Lee Pham. According to official reports, Pham initiated the altercation with Chandler shortly after arriving at the residence. As a witness attempted to intervene, Pham allegedly shot Chandler multiple times before fleeing the scene in a white Jeep.
Within days, authorities apprehended Pham and charged him with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Two women were also arrested in connection with the case. Pamela Shae Norris, 34, and Ashley Dawn Spencer, 33, were charged with accessory after the fact to murder and hindering officers. Norris was reportedly present at the scene of the shooting and later assisted Pham in evading law enforcement. Spencer was accused of providing Pham with transportation and a place to hide. The charges carried significant potential prison sentences for all three individuals.
