In the spring of 2017, a block party on Winetta Street in Laurens, South Carolina, turned into a scene of chaos and violence that left two men dead, including 43-year-old Sidney Speaks. The gathering, attended by over 300 people on the night of May 20th, escalated into a double shooting. When law enforcement and emergency services arrived, they discovered both Speaks and 26-year-old Roydrecilious Irby with gunshot wounds.
