In the summer of 2017, a young man's life was tragically cut short in Greenville, South Carolina. Jerik Christian Wynn, a 21-year-old male, died on June 24, 2017, as a result of a gunshot wound. The incident unfolded at a QT gas station on Grove Road, where authorities found Wynn with a critical injury.
Investigations by the Greenville County Sheriff's Office revealed that Wynn was in a vehicle with another individual, 20-year-old Brandon James Manley, prior to the shooting.
It was determined that while they were handling a firearm inside the car, Wynn accidentally shot himself in the head. He was immediately transported to Greenville Memorial Hospital in critical condition but ultimately succumbed to his injury. The coroner confirmed that the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head.
During their investigation, deputies discovered multiple stolen firearms within the vehicle. While no charges were filed in direct relation to the fatal shooting, Brandon James Manley was arrested and charged with possession of a stolen pistol. It was also found that Manley had multiple active warrants for his arrest from the Anderson County Sheriff's Office.
Jerik Christian Wynn, who was from Anderson, left behind a daughter, Arabella Mae Wynn, as well as his parents, Megan Wynn and Demetruis Lomax, and numerous other family members and friends.
