On May 26, 2024, 27-year-old William Shamari Slade was fatally shot in downtown Greenville, South Carolina. The incident occurred around 1 a.m. near Falls Park Drive and South Main Street, following a verbal altercation between Slade and 28-year-old Brian Murray, who were known to each other. During the confrontation, Murray allegedly shot Slade in the chest.
