In the summer of 2017, the life of 17-year-old Knowledge Sumpter was tragically cut short in North Charleston, South Carolina. The young Black man was found deceased in a yard along Harvey Avenue on the morning of July 21st. An investigation determined that Sumpter had been shot and killed the previous night, following an attempted robbery.
