In the late summer of 2017, the community of Cheraw, South Carolina, was shaken by a violent act that claimed the life of one of its own. Michael Lavon Powe, a 32-year-old male, became the victim of a fatal shooting on the evening of Saturday, September 2nd. The incident unfolded in the parking lot of a Money Saver convenience store located on Highway 9, a place of routine comings and goings that was tragically transformed into a crime scene.
