In the early hours of a Saturday morning in Columbia, South Carolina, a burst of gunfire shattered the quiet of a residential neighborhood. When Richland County Sheriff's deputies arrived at the home on Hertford Drive just after 1 a.m. on September 16, 2017, they discovered the body of 37-year-old Dameon Farrand. He had been shot multiple times in his upper body and was unresponsive. Emergency medical services were called to the scene, but it was too late to save him.
