Michael Uzell Bates, a 29-year-old resident of Columbia, South Carolina, tragically lost his life on November 18, 2019. Bates was found with a fatal gunshot wound to the upper body in a vehicle outside a home on Winter Park Drive, just off Bluff Road. The incident occurred in the afternoon, and despite the efforts of emergency responders, Bates was pronounced dead at the scene.
