Raquan Malik Middleton, a 17-year-old from Orangeburg, South Carolina, tragically lost his life on February 24, 2019. The incident occurred in the parking lot of a Cookout restaurant on John C. Calhoun Drive. According to reports, the fatal shooting happened during an exchange of gunfire between two groups of people in separate vehicles. Middleton was struck by a bullet and subsequently transported to the Regional Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
