On a tragic Mother's Day morning, May 12, 2019, the life of 26-year-old Theron Rodrequis Woodard of Winnsboro, South Carolina, was cut short by gun violence in Columbia. Woodard, a Black / African American male, was a passenger in a car on Columbia Mall Boulevard when shots were fired into the vehicle. He was struck in the upper torso and rushed to Prisma Richland Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries at 5:12 a.m. Another passenger in the vehicle was also wounded in the attack.
