On the final day of 2019, tragedy struck in Goose Creek, South Carolina, with the death of 20-year-old Darius Mckelvey. A male resident of the area, he sustained fatal injuries from gun violence on December 31, 2019.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the shooting, where they found Mckelvey suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of first responders, he succumbed to his injuries. The Berkeley County Coroner's Office later identified him as the victim.
