Donte Vincent Jones was a 23-year-old Black man from Goose Creek, South Carolina, whose life ended suddenly on the afternoon of August 10, 2021. That Tuesday, the quiet of the 300 block of Anne Street was broken by gunfire. Around 4:30–4:35 p.m., a 911 caller reported shots fired and told dispatchers that someone was bleeding at a home along the street. When Goose Creek police officers arrived, they found Jones lying unresponsive outside a residence, suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
