Death by Force

Eugene Simpkins, a 35-year-old resident of Augusta, Georgia, tragically lost his life on the evening of May 19, 2020, in Aiken, South Carolina. According to reports, Simpkins was visiting a friend at the Colony Woods Apartments on Laurens Street. While he was sitting outside the apartment, an unknown vehicle drove by and multiple shots were fired. Simpkins sustained at least one gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene around 9:05 p.m. by Aiken County Coroner Darryl Ables.
