In the summer of 2020, the life of 26-year-old Dre’Shun Marcel 'Fat' Smith was tragically cut short. A native of Union County, South Carolina, Smith passed away on June 10, 2020, in his hometown of Union. His death was the result of gun violence.

Dre'Shun Smith, a male who attended Union County High School, was a father to one son, Dre’Shun Smith, Jr. He was survived by his son and several siblings. His mother, Michelle Smith, had predeceased him.
