On a winter day in Union, South Carolina, the life of 27-year-old Tyler Scott Henderson was tragically cut short. On January 7, 2024, Henderson was found deceased at his home on Jeffries Street in the Monarch community. A White male, Henderson was a native of Union, born on February 14, 1996. He had attended Union County High School and was known to work as an automobile mechanic.
His death prompted an investigation by the Union County Sheriff's Office that would soon lead to a series of arrests.
The first breakthrough in the case came a little over a week later. On January 16, 2024, authorities apprehended 34-year-old Laura Ashley Gwinn in the nearby Spartanburg County. She was charged with murder in connection with Henderson's death. The investigation did not stop there, as another arrest followed just two days later. On January 18, Jennifer Nicole Beasley, 40, was taken into custody and charged with accessory after the fact of a felony, suggesting she may have assisted after the crime was committed.
The pursuit of justice for Tyler Henderson continued into the following month. On February 22, 2024, the Union County Sheriff's Office announced the arrests of two more individuals who were also charged with murder. These suspects were identified as 40-year-old James Michael Beasley of Union and 34-year-old Jeffrey Kyle Roberts of Pacolet. While authorities have not publicly disclosed a specific motive for the killing, the arrests of four individuals signaled a significant development in the ongoing investigation into the untimely death of the young father.
