In the quiet community of Graniteville, South Carolina, a heartbreaking incident unfolded on the evening of July 25, 2020, leading to the death of two-year-old Jamarious Rogers. The young male child was at a residence on Gentle Bend Court when he tragically died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The Aiken County Coroner’s Office pronounced him dead at a local hospital.

Their findings pointed towards an attempt to conceal evidence related to the incident. This led to the arrest of a Graniteville man who was present at the home when the shooting occurred.
Albert Davis, 31, was taken into custody and faced serious charges in connection with the case. He was charged with obstructing justice and unlawful conduct toward a child. According to the investigation, Davis, who was identified as the boyfriend of the child's mother, allegedly removed a firearm from the scene of the fatal shooting. This action formed the basis of the obstruction of justice charge, while the unlawful conduct charge stemmed from the circumstances that allowed the young child access to a deadly weapon. Following his arrest, Albert Davis was booked into the Aiken County detention center.
