In the early morning hours of September 11, 2020, the life of 25-year-old Dontarius Pringle, a Black male, was tragically cut short in a parking lot in North Charleston, South Carolina. At approximately 1:20 a.m., officers from the North Charleston Police Department were dispatched to 7477 Northside Drive after reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Pringle suffering from a gunshot wound.
Despite the immediate efforts of first responders to provide aid, Dontarius
Pringle was pronounced dead at the scene. The Charleston County Coroner's Office later confirmed that his death was the result of a gunshot wound. Friends and family remember him as a man who was always happy and smiling, a funny individual who enjoyed gaming and deeply loved his children.
The North Charleston Police Department promptly began an investigation into the homicide. In the initial stages of their inquiry, a person of interest was identified and contacted by detectives. However, no charges were filed at that time, and authorities have not released further details about potential suspects or any arrests that may have been made.
