In the early evening of March 15, 2021, the life of 18-year-old Caleb A. Martin, a Black male from Columbia, South Carolina, was tragically cut short. The fatal incident unfolded around 8 p.m. in the parking lot of an EZ Spot convenience store located in the 3200 block of Farrow Road. Authorities were alerted to the sound of gunfire by the ShotSpotter notification system. Upon their arrival, Columbia Police Department officers discovered Martin with grave injuries from a shooting.
