In the fall of 2018, a life was tragically cut short in Columbia, South Carolina, leaving a family to mourn and a community seeking answers. James J. Boyer Jr., a 39-year-old male, was fatally shot on the evening of Saturday, November 3, 2018. The incident occurred around 9 p.m. in the 400 block of Providence Plantation Circle, a residential area in the state's capital.
