Death by Force

Paul Swatsell, a 53-year-old cab driver from West Columbia, SC, tragically lost his life on December 15, 2019. Swatsell was working for Checker Yellow Cab Company when he was shot in the upper body while on duty in the 4300 block of Brookridge Drive, north Columbia. He was transported to Prisma Health Richland Hospital by Richland County EMS, where he was pronounced dead at 10:40 p.m. An autopsy confirmed that the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the upper body.
