A bright and promising life was tragically cut short in the early morning hours of July 5, 2021, in Columbia, South Carolina. Trinity Tiana Sanders, a 19-year-old female, was found shot to death inside a residence in the Moores Creek community, near Caughman Road. The Columbia Police Department responded to a report of a shooting at approximately 5 a.m.
and discovered Sanders with no signs of life.
Trinity, born on October 2, 2001, in Richland County, was a recent graduate of Lower Richland High School, class of 2020. During her time in high school, she was an active participant in the JROTC program. Known for her infectious smile and kind spirit, she had dreams of becoming a pediatric nurse. Her family remembers her as a loving individual who brought joy to everyone around her. She was employed at various retail and food establishments where she was known for her excellent customer service.
The investigation into her death has been ongoing since the incident. Authorities have conducted multiple interviews and followed various leads, but the case remains unsolved. Investigators have revealed that they believe Trinity was not the intended target of the fatal shooting, which has been described as a drive-by.
In an effort to bring justice for Trinity and her family, the Columbia Police Department, in collaboration with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information that leads to the resolution of the case. They have urged anyone with even the smallest piece of information to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers. Trinity's family has been vocal in their plea for answers and continues to hold memorials in her honor, hoping that someone will provide the crucial information needed to solve her murder. As of now, no arrests have been made and no suspects have been publicly identified.
