In the early morning hours of March 17, 2024, a violent altercation at the Vegas Knights club in Columbia, South Carolina, claimed the life of Destiny Jones, a 24-year-old Black woman. Deputies with the Richland County Sheriff's Department were called to the club on River Drive shortly after 5 a.m. for reports of a fight involving a weapon. When they arrived, the fight had ended, and they learned that three people with gunshot wounds had already been taken to a local hospital.

Jones, a resident of Columbia, had been shot in the upper body and died from her injuries. Two men were also wounded in the shooting; one was struck in the upper body and the other in the lower body. Both men received medical treatment for their wounds.
The investigation moved swiftly, and within days, the sheriff's department made two arrests. Marcus Marshall was taken into custody on March 18, and Cornelius Williams was arrested the following day. Both men were charged with murder, attempted murder, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. They were booked into the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
In April 2024, authorities announced they were searching for a third person in connection with the deadly shooting. Deputies identified 21-year-old Khmari Renard Livingston as a suspect and issued warrants for his arrest on charges of murder, attempted murder, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
As of April 2024, two men are in custody while a third remains wanted. Authorities have asked anyone with information on Khmari Livingston's whereabouts to call 911. Anyone with other information about the shooting is asked to contact Crime Stoppers of the Midlands at 888-CRIME-SC.
